Kelley Meister (pronouns: ze/hir/hirs) is a visual artist who creates bespoke art pieces that are politically engaged, often utilizing radical politics and critiques of capitalism and other systems of oppression (ableism, racism, nuclear state, war, etc.) and attract people who have a sense of humor and feel (or want to feel) connected to each other and to the plants and animals around us. These include zines, ceramics, and fine art prints. Hir work is a queer-feminist-disabled approach to art that captures the pain, fear, grief, anger, and resistance involved in surviving a global pandemic during the hypernormalized eugenics of the late capitalist death-cult war-machine. Ze is investigating how to refamiliarize hirself with art-making in a body that has been affected on a vascular level by Covid-19, a body that is constantly fatigued, chronically pained, foggy, and just sl-o-w-w-e—r——r———r
